Playing My Part
All I want is what’s best, for everyone and that’s it
Though it’s hard to imagine it will ever be that way
May my desires not stray, may I take time to pray
And with a good heart may I stay
Praying for the world, all the boys and girls
The animals, the land, more than just man…
-Kind. Be kind to all who we are
Especially of that who I am
For that’s who I am and we are who we are, the lights that light up the stars
Living a life to earn, at times against the grain and though the pain may feel harsh
May we not turn a blind eye and shy away from the truth
For the truth shall provide
When we recognize resistance, we can slow its persistence
If we recognize what’s inside
Christ scribed on our hearts
For the reason he died was to bring us back alive
He lives in our spirits
Where heaven awaits, but for now we must take our time
Time undefined, full circle, straight line, but the choice is always now
Sometimes we wait, anticipating the great until we find out how
The hardest part is letting go of what we think we know
And the truth is we know nothing
But when we finally let go, we can then feel free
For there can only be one king
May we learn from him, follow his path
And graciously give to others
For when you fall, I fall, family after all
Should you agree, my sisters and brothers
May we speak with love?
Only feel weak because we’re melting in an abyss
Secured by the warmth of great hugs
Only to be topped off by a kiss
My wish, my love, my letting go is all I have to keep my freedom near
My heart, my art, the way I play my part is with what I do right here
Though it’s hard to imagine it will ever be that way
May my desires not stray, may I take time to pray
And with a good heart may I stay
Praying for the world, all the boys and girls
The animals, the land, more than just man…
