THE GLADIATOR
In society’s reality
Life beats him down
Still he won’t fail
Though he hit the ground
He got back up
He won’t give up
He works it out
No matter what
His hunger is survival
Wait and wonder his arival
From the corner he comes from
He just might surprise you
Tired of being lied to
Still he won’t despise you
Accepts you as human
And so you prove him right
So wrong to him
Makes him strong within
Eyes looking straight
Face ready for your next move
Ready to counter act
Foolishness he’s used too
Half the time he won’t even move
And let you do what you do to you
Wise as an old man’s tale
Burned by the brand entailed
Destin for this fight
Strength built for what’s right
Though scared upon the exterior
Inside he’s never felt inferior
Lessons made him smarter
Against the wall he’s harder
Through the trauma
He came back stronger
A one man army
With not much armor
Cracked, split, chipped, stapled and stitched
Life itself is a learning experience
But he knows what he’s worth
His words are his work
Does what his says
Though he doesn’t say much
Thoughts begin in his head
Actions build him up
But there's not too much he can trust
He sleeps one eye up
He’ll face tough times forever
Only wanting to make things better
Life is simple, love is his treasure
Nothing else matters, money has no measure
Helping and giving is his best feeling
Material to him is less appealing
Takes pride in a future to behold
Half listens to what he’s told
Less it applies instinctively
It matters not what others think of he
In a third party view, he analyzes life
Waits, strikes when the time is right
He prospers for only the good that’s greater
You know him well, as The Gladiator
Life beats him down
Still he won’t fail
Though he hit the ground
He got back up
He won’t give up
He works it out
No matter what
His hunger is survival
